Ring Sizing & Resizing
Sized to Spec.

Precision ring sizing and resizing for retail chains and brand partners — sizing up, sizing down, and structural resizing across gold, silver, and platinum.

What ring sizing & resizing is

And when a piece
actually needs it.

Ring resizing changes the internal circumference of a band so it sits correctly on the wearer's finger. You need it when a ring spins, sticks over the knuckle, or was inherited at the wrong size — and after significant weight, pregnancy, or arthritis changes. Sizing up adds matched alloy into the shank; sizing down removes a segment and re-rounds it. Eternity bands, tension settings, and knife-edge profiles cannot be cut and soldered like a plain band, so they route to a different bench process entirely.

Typical cost

$60–$180 for gold; $150+ for platinum, which needs higher-temperature tooling.

Ranges are consumer-facing guidance from our published guides. Every job is confirmed in writing after evaluation.

Overview

Engineered for
retail programs.

Every ring is measured, mapped, and resized to the customer's exact finger size using calibrated mandrels and torque-controlled tooling — never eyeballed.

Heat-sensitive stones are pre-flagged at intake and routed to laser-welding stations to protect inclusions and color treatments during the work.

FAQ · Ring Sizing & Resizing

Ring Sizing & Resizing,
answered.

Specific questions about ring sizing & resizing — what it costs, when it's needed, and what we do differently.

How many sizes can a ring safely go up or down?
Most plain and lightly-set bands move two sizes in either direction without structural risk. Beyond that we recommend a full-shank replacement, because stretching thins the metal at the base and pushes side stones out of alignment.
Can an eternity band be resized?
Not by cutting and soldering — the stones run the full circumference. We either add sizing beads, fit a hinged or sizing-bar insert, or rebuild the band at the new size and reset the stones. All three are quoted before work begins.
Will the resize be visible afterwards?
No. The joint is laser-welded or soldered with a colour-matched alloy, re-rounded on a calibrated mandrel, then polished and (for white gold) rhodium re-plated, so the shank reads as one continuous piece at 10x.
