Stone tightening re-seats a gem that has begun to move in its setting; replacement sources and sets a new stone when the original is chipped, lost, or beyond saving. A stone that clicks when tapped near the ear, or a pavé row that catches light unevenly, is loose — not yet lost. Replacement work is where matching matters: colour, clarity, cut, and carat all have to line up with the surviving stones or the repair announces itself.
$10–$25 per stone for tightening. Replacement stones are quoted separately against the graded match required.

- Yes. A moving stone abrades its own girdle and enlarges the seat, so the longer it stays loose the more likely it chips and the more expensive the eventual fix becomes.
- Can you match a stone from a piece bought years ago?
- In most cases. We grade the surviving stones, then source to that spec from bonded inventory. Where an exact match is impossible we say so in writing before setting anything.
- Do you replace lab-grown as well as natural diamonds?
- Yes — and we match like for like. A lab-grown piece is repaired with lab-grown stones and documented as such for the customer's records.
