Rhodium Plating
Showroom-Grade White.
Rhodium plating for white gold and finished jewelry — even, durable, and color-matched to your brand's showroom tone.
And when a piece
actually needs it.
Rhodium plating is a thin electroplated layer of white precious metal applied over white gold to give it the bright, cool tone customers expect. White gold is not naturally white — it is a yellow-gold alloy, and as the plating wears the warm base colour shows through, usually first on the underside of a ring shank. You need re-plating when a white gold piece looks yellowish or patchy, typically every twelve to twenty-four months on daily wear.
$60–$120 depending on piece size and how much surface preparation the item needs first.
Ranges are consumer-facing guidance from our published guides. Every job is confirmed in writing after evaluation.

Engineered for
retail programs.
Plating tanks are temperature- and chemistry-monitored daily, so the tone delivered in volume matches the sample you approved on day one.
Pieces are stripped, deep-cleaned, and inspected for porosity before plating — a missed prep step is the most common cause of premature wear in field-returned pieces.

Rhodium Plating,
answered.
Specific questions about rhodium plating — what it costs, when it's needed, and what we do differently.
- How long does rhodium plating last?
- On a daily-worn ring, roughly twelve to eighteen months; on earrings or pendants, several years. Wear rate is driven by friction, not age.
- Can yellow or rose gold be rhodium plated?
- Yes, though it is a cosmetic change rather than a restoration — and it will need periodic renewal. Two-tone pieces are masked so only the intended areas are plated.
- Why does plating sometimes fail early?
- Almost always inadequate preparation. Residual polishing compound or unaddressed porosity stops the rhodium bonding, so every piece here is stripped, ultrasonically cleaned, and porosity-checked before it enters the bath.
