Necklace Repair
Rejoined. Reset. Returned.
Chain breaks, pendant bail failures, clasp problems, and length adjustments handled across delicate to heavy-gauge necklaces.
And when a piece
actually needs it.
Necklace repair covers the whole assembly, not just the chain: the links, the clasp, the jump rings, and the bail the pendant hangs from. These faults arrive together — a snapped chain very often comes in alongside a soft clasp spring and a bail worn thin by the pendant sawing at it. Diagnosing the full scope at intake means the customer authorises one repair instead of returning twice more over the following year.
$40–$90 for standard chain and clasp work; bail rebuilds and length changes are quoted with it.
Ranges are consumer-facing guidance from our published guides. Every job is confirmed in writing after evaluation.

Engineered for
retail programs.
Necklace repair frequently arrives bundled — a snapped chain often comes with a worn clasp and a loose pendant bail. We diagnose and quote the full repair scope at intake so the customer authorizes one job, not three.
Heavy chains, hollow chains, and pendant-loaded chains each require a different solder approach. Our chain bench routes by construction type before the job hits the torch or laser.

Necklace Repair,
answered.
Specific questions about necklace repair — what it costs, when it's needed, and what we do differently.
- The chain broke but the clasp also feels loose — is that one repair?
- It is one job with two line items, and we quote both at intake. Repairing only the break tends to mean the piece comes back within months for the clasp.
- Can a pendant bail be replaced without damaging the pendant?
- Yes. The bail is removed at the join and a new one fitted, laser-welded where the pendant contains heat-sensitive stones or enamel.
- Can you shorten or lengthen a necklace?
- Both. Links are removed or matched stock added, with the clasp re-fitted so the finished length is exactly what the customer specified.
