Chain repair rejoins a broken link, replaces a failed section, or re-tensions a construction that has stretched under its own weight. Most chains fail at a predictable point: next to the clasp, next to a pendant bail, or at a link that was over-thinned in manufacture. The repair route depends entirely on construction — a solid curb link takes solder, while a hollow rope or snake chain will collapse under a torch and must be laser-welded.
$40–$90 for a standard break-and-rejoin, with heavier or hollow constructions at the upper end.

- Can a hollow rope chain actually be repaired?
- Yes, with laser welding. Torch heat pushes trapped air out of a hollow link and deforms it; a laser pulse fuses the join without heating the surrounding braid.
- My chain keeps breaking in the same place — why?
- It is usually stress concentration, not bad luck. Repeated failure next to a pendant means the bail is cutting into a link, and the fix is a reinforced link or a larger-bore bail, not another solder.
- Do you test the repair before returning it?
- Every chain is load-tested under tension after the joint is finished, and the repaired section is polished so the join is not visible against the original pattern.
