Our Standard

The best repair is
the one you barely notice.

Luxury jewelry is defined by proportion, construction, finish, and detail. Repairing it properly requires more than correcting the visible problem—it requires understanding how the piece was made and preserving what makes it distinctive.

At RJS, every repair begins with a considered evaluation of the metal, setting, structure, surface, and condition of the piece. We then determine the most appropriate and least invasive approach to restore its strength, security, and appearance.

No bench work begins until the recommended scope, pricing, and expected timeline have been presented for your approval.

Every piece is assessed individually. Certain proprietary constructions, specialized finishes, or manufacturer-specific components may be better serviced by the original house. When that is the case, we will tell you before accepting the repair.

RJS is an independent jewelry repair provider and is not affiliated with, authorized by, or endorsed by the brands named above. Brand names are used only to identify the original manufacturer of the jewelry. Independent service may affect an existing manufacturer's warranty; clients with active coverage should review their warranty terms before proceeding.

The Process

A careful process, from
first look to final inspection.

1

Share your piece with us

Submit photographs and describe the issue. A member of our team will review the request and determine whether the repair appears suitable for our atelier.

2

Receive a documented assessment

Once the piece has been inspected in person, you will receive a written repair scope, price, and expected timeline. Nothing proceeds without your authorization.

3

Approve the work

Your repair is completed by an experienced jeweler and passes a final quality inspection before return.

Custody

Craftsmanship matters.
Custody does, too.

When valuable jewelry leaves your hands, the process surrounding the repair is as important as the bench work itself. Every accepted piece moves through a documented workflow that includes:

  • Condition documentation at intake
  • Written repair scope and authorization
  • Traceable chain of custody
  • Lloyd's of London Jewelers Block coverage while in RJS custody
  • Quality-control inspection before return
  • Insured nationwide mail-in service

The result is a repair experience designed around precision, accountability, and peace of mind.

FAQ

Frequently asked
questions.

Common questions about independent repair of luxury and designer jewelry.

Can RJS repair jewelry from luxury brands?
RJS independently evaluates luxury and designer pieces for repair and restoration. Suitability depends on the construction, materials, condition, and availability of any required components.
Will an independent repair affect my warranty?
It may. If your piece is still covered by a manufacturer's warranty—particularly when the issue may result from a manufacturing defect—we recommend reviewing the warranty terms or consulting the original brand before authorizing independent service.
How long will my repair take?
Most standard consumer repairs are completed within 10–15 business days after the piece arrives. Complex restoration, component fabrication, or stone sourcing may require additional time. Your expected timeline will be provided before work begins.
Is my jewelry insured?
RJS maintains a Lloyd's of London Jewelers Block Policy for pieces in its custody. Shipping and coverage details are confirmed as part of the intake process.
Can every piece be repaired?
Not always. Some proprietary constructions, specialized finishes, or severely compromised pieces may require service from the original manufacturer. We would rather make that recommendation clearly than accept a repair that should not be performed independently.
