Can a Pandora bracelet or charm be repaired?
Yes — most Pandora damage is repairable, and the three most common failures (a worn clasp, a snapped safety chain, and a loose stone in a charm) are routine bench work. Clasp and chain repairs typically run $40–$90; stone tightening runs $10–$25 per stone. You do not have to return a piece to the store you bought it from to have it fixed properly.

Sterling silver is the reason these pieces wear
Most Pandora-style bracelets and charms are sterling silver (925). Sterling is soft. That is what makes it comfortable and affordable, and it is also why clasps wear open, why bracelets stretch after a few years of daily wear, and why the metal tarnishes. None of that means the piece is defective — it means it is silver, and silver is a maintenance metal.
Two practical consequences:
- Heat is the risk. Charms often contain enamel, cubic zirconia, resin, or Murano-style glass. Those materials will craze, discolour, or crack under a torch. Careful low-heat or laser work is the difference between a repaired charm and a ruined one.
- Stretch is cumulative. A bracelet that has stretched significantly may be re-linked, but a bracelet that has thinned along its whole length is at end of life. An honest evaluation says so.
What we can and cannot do
Repairable in most cases: clasp repair and replacement, safety chain re-attachment, snapped links, re-threading, loose stone tightening, dented charms, tarnish and scratch removal, worn barrel clasps.
Usually not repairable: cracked Murano-style glass charms, badly chipped enamel (colour cannot be matched to original), and charms where the whole body has split along a casting seam. In those cases the honest answer is replacement, not a repair invoice.
What drives the price
- Metal and construction. Sterling is cheaper to work than gold; hollow or thin components take more care, not less.
- Number of stones. Tightening is priced per stone.
- Heat-sensitive materials. Enamel and glass charms need slower, lower-heat methods.
- Piece count. Sending a full bracelet with eight charms is one shipment and one evaluation, not eight.
